Our fabulous old house has had a rich and varied history.

Built by Salisbury Dunn – a local landowner – in 1787, and extended massively in Victorian times by Edward Ball MP, the property passed through the ownership of many families until its purchase by Cambridgeshire County Council in 1964.

Since then, the Centre has been through many more changes, and a great number of terrible carpets.

We hold a massive amount of infromation on the house and garden, as well as the people who’ve lived and worked here in the 227 years since it was built.
