Welcome to Burwell House

Burwell House has been a fantastic venue for a wide variety of residential and non-residential courses for almost forty years.

Built in the late 1700s and owned by Cambridgeshire County Council since the 1960's, it retains the gracious atmosphere of a large family home, whilst catering for the needs of modern day customers.

Our home-cooked food has an enviable reputation, with our professional and experienced cooks taking pride in the food they produce.

Our lounges, conservatory, seminar rooms, TV studio and craft studio mean that there is a variety of internal accommodation to fulfil any requirement you may have.  Upstairs, our comfortable bedrooms range from twin-bedded rooms to larger dormitories.  All have access to toilets and showers and all bed linen is provided. Staff bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

Three acres of landscaped gardens, including many specimen trees, an orchard, meadows, a wildlife pond and a wide array of sculptures, complement the house in offering a relaxed, informal setting for groups of all ages and abilities.

Providing an array of residential and non-residential, catered and self-catered,  taught and self-led courses for children and young people and for adults, we can offer a flexible service to fulfil a very wide array of groups' requirements.

Situated in the village of Burwell, on the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk border, we have excellent transport links to the whole of East Anglia and beyond via the A14 and the M11.

Within Cambridgeshire County Council we are part of Children and Young People's Services and are proud to serve thousands of customers from Cambridgeshire and many surrounding counties.
