School day visits

As well as residential provision, Burwell House can offer a fantastic environment for a school day visit – with themes and subjects across the curriculum.

TV Studio

Our TV studio gives children a fantastic opportunity to create and film a news programme on a subject of their choosing – working in both the presentation and technical departments during school day visits.  This is an excellent opportunity for working on creative writing, with scripts being written at school before the visit.  Then on the day, reading, speaking and listening skills come to the fore. In addition this day is a great focus for teamwork with both teams needing to focus on working together in order to make a successful broadcast.  At the end of the session, any recorded material will be sent via an online file-sharing platform and put onto USB drives for the school to take home.
